Our Epoxy Flooring Process
Every epoxy flooring project begins with protecting your space. Anything that doesn’t need a coat of epoxy gets carefully masked off and covered. If you’ve chosen a complete floor-to-ceiling makeover, we handle all wall and ceiling prep, taping, texturing, masking, and painting first, then move to the floor.
Next, our team preps the floor and stem walls if desired. Surface prep includes cleaning, grinding, sanding, and patching to ensure an ideal base before we apply the first coat of primer. This primer coat works in tandem with the surface prep to create strong adhesion between the concrete and the base coat. We can also bring the epoxy up the vertical surface of the stem walls, coating the entire area in one seamless pass.
From there, we apply the epoxy base coat. This is the foundation layer that establishes both the underlying color and the critical bond to the primer. After that bond cures, we apply a second coat where the real build-up occurs. This layer also serves as the canvas for broadcasting your chosen fleck color. Flecks aren’t purely decorative either. They provide the surface texture needed for safety underfoot. Several standard fleck options are available, and custom blends can be made to match your vision.
Finally, we apply the clear topcoat. We use a high-performance standard clear coat that suits most applications, and we also offer upgraded options for environments that demand additional protection, including heavy industrial settings and static-free facilities.
We don’t consider a job finished until you’ve given your seal of approval and we’ve thoroughly cleaned our workspace, leaving your garage, workshop, or facility looking clean and refreshed.
